Bio – Darrian Looney
I am currently an animation major at Columbia College Chicago, Class of 2027.
I was part of the first cohort for the Interlochen Arts Academy Amination Program. As a student in this new program, I learned how to:
- Create animations from original concept through design to the final production.
- Design storyboards and sets or backgrounds that incorporate principles of composition, perspective, and color through a variety of 2D, 3D, and digital media.
- Assemble story elements of character, conflict, and resolution to actively engage the audience.
- Communicate ideas, emotions, and intent effectively in visual, oral, and written forms.
- Generate work that reflects initiative, creativity, flexibility, and a personal voice
I love stop-motion animation and storyboarding. I also love drawing my original concept characters and backgrounds to use with my ideas.
My YouTube channel, Animal and Toy Studios, has 4.83K subscribers and over 200 videos, utilizing 2D, 3D, and stop-motion techniques. The 2D videos focus on five unique characters and their stories that were created by me.
My Tik-Tok channel, Animal and Toy Studios, has 37K subscribers. I create many of the animation shorts based on requests from viewing fans.c
